The Lanes and The High Street

* Have you participated in my Giveaway - Click HERE* (closes 13/3/16)

I had a few comments, from people who know Brighton, mentioning how much they like to wander through The Lanes...have you heard about The Lanes?

The Lanes in Brighton is a maze of narrow lanes lined with eateries, brand names, antique shops, gift shops, jewelry shops, boutiques, pubs.....etc. The area is the historic hub of Brighton, coming to life some 400 years ago as a group of fishing cottages.  HERE is an interesting historic read about the area.

This is a collage of some of the eateries found in the area.....I loved the effect of the diamond design leaded windows of "The Breakfast Club" building.

I have posted a picture of one of these shops before....a major High Street brand called All Saints. No, they don't sell vintage sewing machines....it is a clothing outlet....but I feel sewists everywhere are a little envious of this window display especially since all these machines are currently off the antique market and since I don't have mine yet....a little sad about that. Still it is impressive for a window display....I have no idea what their clothes are like because I don't think I have entered any of these shops.

While we were walking to The Lanes, I saw this mural on the side of a building. Miss M tells me it is another High Street brand but I don't have a clue which one....I thought it was cute though. It was just near here that we stumbled upon a cute little gift shop....I could of gone absolutely crazy in there but in the end settled for a couple of little wall hangings.

I realise now that I should of taken more photo's of our discoveries in The Lanes and the High Street...oh, the joy of hindsight! On our timely walk back to the train station, I noticed this rather lovely pink building....quick stop for a snap. It's neighbour was a lovely shade of lilac! North Street in Brighton is known as the High Street for shopping.

My Link Up Giveaway is still open.....not many takers yet.....I can't believe it's so hard to give something away! Link UP and Link BACK.....Easy Peasy! Here is what you can win.
PS...you might want to leave me a comment when you have linked so I know you have been by.  Good Luck!

  3. Been to England just once - with a lorry for work - but I see I really have to go there some day for a holiday. It's so close by - well, closer by than for you at least. It's going on our "some-day-when-we're-retired-travel-list"....
