Resolution

I don't believe in New Year Resolutions....in the past I feel they have set me up for failure but at the same time it is in my nature to have some sort of plan and ritual over the course of a week/ month or year....Lately, I have not had much to say, show or share at Bits 'n Bobs and I have only blogged 58 posts last year, which is down on the year before and the least I have ever blogged in a year. Not a problem with my other blog Cath@Home where I post almost every day..... In 2015, I blogged 130 posts over there and I let the memes and link ups guide my blogging,.....so I think I need to be more committed at Bits 'n Bobs....don't you?

There is something about January though that makes you want to make a fresh start and I do it every year....I do hope this will be something I can stick too. Now all I need is some encouragement!

  3. Why don't you just roll it all into one..... Post everything in one spot......

  4. Hi Cath, did you know you can use a feed reader to put all your favourite blogs in one place rather than making a list and visiting to see if they've posted? New posts come up automaticallt and are there waiting for you when you feel like a read.

  5. Why do you keep 2 different blogs? I find it hard enough to write posts for one blog let alone two.

    1. Hi Dasha....Even if I kept it to one blog, it would mean sometimes having two posts in one day....which would take just as long to write....There is so much to blog about with Cath@Home whereas I am a bit slow on the sewing front so I feel like my blog posts get boring. I am hoping the resolutions will motivate me to get a move on with my projects!

  6. Yes maintaining 2 blogs would be a lot of work Cath, so don't be too hard on yourself :-). I love what ever you write!

    1. Thank you Maria. I enjoy the writing and even more the photo taking....it is all just so time consuming as a whole but definitely not throwing in the towel! I love reading your blog too including the posts about Brisbane and your travels. You are on my 'must read and catch up' list to visit on Saturdays.

  7. Others have already said it, but I'll say it again anyway...I tried keeping a blog for my cat, George, once...He was Captain Cattastic! I blog almost daily on my own blog, but when I added his, it started feeling like too much. It meant more picture editing, more writing, more coming up with ideas, etc., and eventually, I shut George's blog down. It was much easier for me to keep it all on one blog and to tag my posts with a limited number of topics. On the other hand, blogging, sewing, cooking, baking, photography...whatever it is that you're writing about....should bring you joy. If it doesn't, then what's the point? Blog as often and however you like.

    1. Thanks for your comments Barbara...I have often wondered how you do so much sewing and manage to write such informative posts...every day! As I mentioned in my latest post...I like to compartmentalise things.I just feel recently that Bits 'n Bobs has taken a back seat because I always seem to be on the same projects for so long and because of that I feel disengaged from some of my followers. I would like to take a leaf out of your book and remedy that!

  8. I tried keeping up two blogs once and then didn't feel I was doing justice to either one. So I agree with the other comments about rolling them both into one blog. However, I haven't looked at your other blog, yet, so maybe the content needs to be separated.

I have often said I need to piece during the day and hand stitch at night so I can spend time beside Hubby. Hard to do.

    1. Hi Marti...I do feel the content is different and like I explained to Barbara and in my latest post...keeping them separate is part of who I am. Maybe, when I have built my new studio, but by then I feel/hope Bits 'n Bobs will be more prolific in content

  9. Just keeping up with one blog is time consuming, I can't imagine two. Maybe you should give yourself permission to take a couple of blog vacations during the year to help keep it from being such a chore. Good luck with your blog goals.
