Friday Report - Flowerville & Baby G

Here we are at Friday and I thought I would do a status report on what I have accomplished so far this week...there is still the weekend to keep sewing which is something to look forward to.

First off...I found my hoop...in plain sight! I was sitting somewhere [unmentionable], with the door open and a clear view into my sewing room and wham, it hit me right between the eyes...how could I not have seen it before?

Can you spot it?

how about now?

brazenly perched on top of that yarn basket...just a fraction above eye level....as clear as a midsummer sky!

And there it will stay so I know where it is next time I need it!

Flowerville has progressed very nicely without that hoop, thank you very much!

I have been having some trouble with my satin stitch at night and so deviated from the pattern a little bit and filled the spaces in with chain stitch.  I think it looks alright.

I think I have also mixed up the colours a little but that is not such a big problem, is it?

I have made some progress on the Baby G Quilt as well.  All the square units are done and I am joining them up for the rows.

No progress has been made on the Brookfield baskets....but the weekend isn't over yet!

♥ How about you? have you progressed with your Design Board for the week?

♥ You can still link in with Design Board Monday...it is open until Sunday night.

♥ If you have been in the kitchen cooking up a storm instead, head on over to Cath@Home, for the link party and Giveaway....Friends Wanted!

  1. mmm...it is hard to miss that hoop - now that you have found it.
patterns are just a guide - chain stich, satin stich or even just an outline - its all yours to do as you please...looking pretty.

  2. Hee hee, that's too funny about how you spotted your missing hoop Cath!
I think Flowerville looks fantastic - a lot better than "alright".
And Baby G's blocks are coming along wonderfully. I haven't done any cooking lately - we have the flu here at our house.

  6. I really admire those who do handwork. I love your hand embroidery. You must have a lot of patience to do that.

  7. I was too busy drooling over all the pretty yarn in the baskets to notice the hoop. Your hand embroidery is coming along nicely. I've finally admitted that it is too hard for me to do counted cross stitch at night. And, really, if it is too big I lose interest way too fast.

  9. Do you like the PVC frame or the hoop better? How funny that it was hiding so well right there in sight. :) The colors are fine, and I really like the chain stitches in place of satin.

  10. I love your hand embroidery. I think the chain stitch gives a really nice textural variation on satin stitch.

  12. I think your stitches look fantastic, and you're right - the colors look great and not mixed up at all. Glad the hoop found you. :) My sandals did the same thing to me this morning.....

  13. I had to smile when I read about finding your hoop. I've done that too and end up shaking my head as to how I could have missed what I was looking for.

Your Flowerville is looking great! I think filling in with the chain stitch working out wonderfully and gave those areas some texture.

Thanks so much for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for the link back. Aloha hugs!
