Pinterest Making Spirits Bright (1)

Judy over at Cat 'n Cart Crafts has been making an ornament a day inspired by Pinterest. I have been collecting Christmas inspiration for so long via Pinterest without really doing anything about it but Judy has inspired me to take stock of that so starting off easy peasy I am going to make every effort to create as many Pinterest creations as I can before Christmas rolls in.

Starting with this one. Not really a make-it craft but a decorating idea which is easy to achieve and ever so effective.

This and other great ideas for apothacary jars found here
I just love apothacary jars and have a few of them on display in various rooms.  They can be very expensive at homeware stores like "Wheel & Barrow" but I found a few at my local dollar shop and picked one up for a fraction of the cost.

I filled it with ribbon toppers intended for presents and voila......a decorative scene is taking shape.  While cleaning up yesterday, I saw another other little apothacary jar with new eyes. Emptying out the contents, (some dried rose buds) I refilled with some little christmas baubles.....
And putting them both together with some other decorations both old and new, I have a brand new Christmas Vignette in the entrance hall to welcome guests.

My colour theme this year is Red/Blue&White so I surrounded my scene with some blue christmas lights. This is what it looks like at night.
Not stopping there, I decided to use yet another apothacary jar that is on everyday display on my coffee table atm. It is usually filled with blue/white glass pebbles and topped with some paper flowers so I removed the flowers and topped it up with baubles.  It sits atop a display cabinet in our living room.

Told you it was easy peasy.......what do you think? Do you use everyday vases/apothacary jars to decorate for Christmas?

  10. Auto correct is annoying sometimes, my comment should have said "I love Christmas decorating"
