ok... my "grass" is a little more manicured! |
As with so many of these kind of things, finding the essentials is not as easy as you would think. I had an awful time trying to find the foam wreath and I searched all the usual suspects like Lincraft and Spotlight to no avail. I did find the right colour fibre at Lincraft and the daisy trim at Spotlight. Miss M said I should try "Riot" and eventually I found myself in the vacinity and low and behold.....they had them there. I did, however, get the last one in stock!
pins, daisy trim, fluffy green knitting fibre, foam wreath |
So with all my bits 'n bobs collected time to get started. Find a comfy spot to wrap all that fibre onto the wreath, it takes awhile and the fibre can get into an awful mess.
Then it is just a case of cutting a daisies from the roll of trim and attaching them by sticking a pin through the centre and into the wreath.
All that's left to do is attach a ribbon and hang it up. A little late for Easter but I am still going to hang it up.
Keep your needles threaded!

Absolutely gorgeous Cath - a cheap option when you cannot find a foam wreath is to get some foam pipe from the plumbing section of your hardware store - cut to size - join with tape - ready for you to use

Very cute.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a daisy lawn, whether in your own back yard or hanging prettily on your wall.........what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Cath, it looks really pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great project and I can see it staying up all year - though the same idea could easily be used at Christmas.!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea and adorable wreath! I would have never thought to use yarn(knitting fibre) for something like that. Oooh, the possibilities.
ReplyDeleteHi Cath - what a lovely project! It is so pretty with those daisies.

That is so cute! The daisies are the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteHi Cath, I love this wreath! I'm kind of a wreath "junkie" & pretty much feel a room isn't complete without one....lol! I would leave this up all summer!
ReplyDeleteThank you for following my blog, & I'm now following 2 of yours. I'm a beginner quilter (have been for a couple of years now), & your blog "Sew It's Finished" looks very interesting to me. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
